Maximising the Available Space
This design and build project has taken a small space and made three separate areas while keeping storage in an otherwise wasted area. The garden owner now loves to relax on the decking and listen to the water trickling close by. We created three levels with a raised bed partially enclosing the porcelain patio used for entertaining. A water feature adds visual interest and beautiful planting completes the picture.
The decking forms the seating area that extends from the kitchen and is the go to for relaxation.
The use of levels in this otherwise level site separates planting from eating and seating areas.
The design always had this view in mind.
An alternative perspective. A screen has been used to break-up the solid fencing.
The raised bed encloses the eating area adding seating and a cosy feeling.
Just planted out. It's always surprising what a difference the plants make to a garden and this bed will become more beautiful as the plants mature.
Standalone water feature surrounded by plants is a central view from the eating area and the trickling water can be heard from both seating and eating areas.
