Natural Planting Around a Curved
Retaining Wall
By replacing the old concrete block retaining wall and curving the flowerbeds we we able to give this garden and new lease of life.
The curved shape turns a drab retaining wall, that you want to hide, into a garden feature.
The wall follows the line of the lawn edge rather than the fence. The curved flowed bed will showpiece the plants as they mature.
These deeper flower beds provided more scope for layered planting.
The view to the feature tree is improved by the choice of plants and variety of colours and textures.
The hedge will grow to break-up the dominating fence.
The client wanted alternative seating areas. This is the view from the rose arbour where they can watch the sun go down.
Attracting wildlife into the garden was part of the original brief.
Acer Sangokaku is a coral-bank acer, a colour-changing variety and a total delight to see everyday.
